Bus Accident in Red Lake Falls

There was an bad bus accident yesterday outside of Red Lake Falls. It was the bus Rachel rides when she doesn't stay after school with me. The interesection is not too far from where we live. I think Rachel would have gotten dropped off before the accident occured if she were on the bus. There were 5 students on the bus. They were all in the back when a terragator (a piece of farm machinery) ran a yield sign and hit the middle of the bus. None of the students were hurt and the bus driver had minor injuries. Praise the Lord for watching over those kids and the bus driver. I am including a few pictures of the accident and a website with the local news story.

Crazy Kids

I like to call this a "what is going through your head" moment in the life of my youngest girls. Sarah and Jordan won new bike helmets at our school's safety camp. They have worn them for everything BUT biking. Jordan even likes to wear hers while eating supper. Hey - you have to pick your battles as a parent. These pictures are taken from the house without the girls knowing. They are wearing their new helmets and taking turns going down the slide. Sarah likes to go head first and Jordan is still a "stay-on-my-backside" kind of girl. The other picture is of Jordan getting ready to "shave" with Dad.

Happy Mother's Day!

Mother's Day was a whirlwind of activity in the Wieland Household. My mom was up for the festivities which was nice. We had church in the morning and then went out to eat really quickly! Rachel had her first piano recital that afternoon and did a fantastic job. I am involved in a contemporary Christian performing group called, "Heart of Worship" and our concert was the same night so I think I only relaxed for about 30 minutes that day. I think I should have taken the next day off of work and enjoyed a belated Mother's Day. Maybe next year!

School is in the final week and Todd is in the final stages of seeding the crops. We should be able to enjoy Memorial Day among all the graduation parties we have to attend. I think the count is up to 12 now but we could have a few more during this last week. Pretty soon we will need to take out a loan just to buy graduation gifts.

The weather is starting to turn nice up here in NW Minnesota. The girls could actually play outside the other day without a jacket or sweatshirt. The lawn looks as if it is begging me to come out and mow it down. The signs of summer are just around the corner!

Enjoy the pictures!
