Luke and Mud

What does a farm boy do after a 1/2 inch rain?  Play in the mud puddles, of course!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to my wonderful husband!  I couldn't have asked for a better man to grow old with and raise our children.  You work hard yet have time to be an involved dad.  Looking forward to many more Father's Day pictures!

Also, Happy Father's Day to my dad, John and my father-in-law, Henry.  Todd and I would not be the people we are today if it wasn't for your wonderful influence on our lives.

Summer Drama

Once again, I took on the task of putting together a RLF Summer Drama production.  We had a cast of 21 students ranging from age 8 - 12 and rehearsed weekdays from 8:30 - 11:30.  Our play was entitled "The Emperor's New Clothes" which centers around a certain king who is very fond of clothes.  Two swindlers trick him into believing they can sew him a suit that only the wisest in his kingdom will be able to see.  Through a series of events, the emperor ends up parading through the "town" in his long john underwear.  My students did a fantastic job creating this production in 10 rehearsals and performed it without a hitch!

The cast of "The Emperor's New Clothes"
Sarah, Rachel and nieces - Jaden and Paige were all part of the play.
Sarah as the "Minister of Pets/Narrator"
Rachel as the evil swindler "Luigi Farabutto"

First Haircut

The time finally came this past week for Luke to get his first haircut.  I'm not one to be too sentimental about these types of milestones which probably explains why I chose not to treasure a piece of his hair (or maybe by child #4 it just doesn't seem that relevant in the long-term.)  Needless to say, the barber was quite surprised at my decision and even asked me several times if I was sure that I didn't want to save a lock of his hair.  Yes, I am sure!

Before with the long bangs and curls in the back.

He had to sit on mom's lap to get it down.
 Finished at last!
Lookin' handsome with my new cut.
